Antonis is currently fighting for his life and Apollon FC stands by him and his family.<\/p>\n<p>Spinal Muscular Atrophy is a rare disease which requires a long and consuming treatment, as well as expensive medicine which is very difficult to procure. The experimental medicine which has been given to Antonis is called \u00abnusinersen\/spinraza\u00bb and was procured after the financial help of the Cypriot Government. The medicine was able to stop the spreading of the disease and today Antonis is still alive because of it.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, a new treatment called ZOLGENSMA has been suggested as a possible cure since it can affect the molecules that cause the actual disease.
