The Apollon’s new coach, Mr. Adrian Gula, made his first interview.<\/p>\n

The Slovakian coach has spoken to the official club’s website www.apollon.com.cy<\/a> about his emotions after taking over the coaching position, his style of playing and what Apollon’s fans can expect in the upcoming season.<\/p>\n

Welcome to our family. What are your first thoughts after this move?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thank you very much. I feel very happy, it is a great honour for me and my staff to be able to work at this great club. I saw the facilities, the stadium and collected a lot of positive information about the club and I am looking forward to start working. I am looking forward to this challenge after getting to understand the team, the players and the fans who love their team and that is important.<\/p>\n

You have already toured the training centre and the stadium. What are your impressions?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Very positive, I worked in the past in clubs with great facilities such as Victoria Plzen, DAC and Zilina but those of Apollon are excellent and offer everything we need to work as we should. The pitch, the gym, the two pitches at the training ground, the restaurant and everything is truly professional.<\/p>\n

How would you describe your playing philosophy in short?<\/strong><\/p>\n

In general, I like my teams to dominate the pitch and of course to maintain a balance between attack and defense. The idea is to control the game while maintaining possession of the ball and I think based on what I’ve gathered about the club, that fits with its DNA. Respect, teamwork, team spirit are factors that pushed me to join Apollon and it’s something I want to be part of the teams where I work because these values are both my personal values.<\/p>\n

Is your preferred formation the 4-3-3?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Yes, it is, that’s the system I prefer but we are very flexible. My experience has shown me that we should be able to switch depending on the match conditions and the opponent but we usually play in a 4-3-3 formation.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

And lastly, what message would you like to send to the team’s fans and what they can expect from you?<\/strong><\/p>\n

They can expect that we will give everything for Apollon and fight for the club’s crest. We want to make them happy and this is a big challenge for all of us.<\/p>\n

I want them to look forward for the games and to feel happy to watching their team. That’s the maximum we can achieve. Wins are important, they bring joy to the fans and that’s what we will strive for. We want to build a winning spirit in the players and we will work hard for that.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
