Match Report | APOLLON – OLYMPIAKOS (3-2 FRIENDLY)
Apollon played another friendly test against Olympiakos Nicosia, securing a 3-2 victory at the “Apollon Columbia” Training Centre in Kolossi. Our team showed a solid performance for most of the game, with goals scored by Weissbeck, Gaspar and Duodu.
The scoring opened in the 4th minute when Weissbeck converted a penalty earned by Vrikkis after being brought down by Stefanou. In the 53rd minute, Gaspar doubled our lead after an excellent attacking move: Brown delivered a superb through ball to Marques, who squared it to Gaspar for the easy finish. Three minutes later, in the 56th, Duodu made it 3-0 with a composed finish after sprinting behind the defense.
The visitors pulled one back in the 68th minute through Inja, who scored from close range after Vouros initially cleared the ball off the line. In the 89th minute, Charalambous converted a penalty to make it 3-2. Key moments for Apollon also included Castel hitting the post in the 15th minute and Duodu’s big chance in the 85th, which was cleared off the line by Eftyhidis.
