Apollon FC participates to CSR program “Welcome Through Football”
Apollon Football Public Ltd, proudly announces the participation to EFDN’s CSR program “Welcome Through Football”, which aims at helping refugee kids in their incorporation to society.
Apollon was selected along with Gent, Emmen, Everton and Werder Bremen, who also joined the program.
The program is supported by UEFA and the European Union, and will run for 4 months, starting from July. The program wants to build and nourish the team spirit and other personality traits of young refugee kids.
In detail:
– Apollon FC created a team comprised of 20 refugee kids, both boys and girls.
– The team meets once a week at the Saint John’s Center in Limassol.
– Every session has a duration of four hours. Usually the first two hours are dedicated on educational seminars hosted by social workers and psychologists of the Hope For Children Foundation. The rest of the sessions are dedicated to football training, conducted by Apollon coaches, Mr. Valentinos Kouloundis and Mr. Panicos Karamanides.
– The project could not be realized if not for the help and support of Saint John’s Center and the Hope For Children Foundation.
