Clinton Duodu: Apollon is a great opportunity for me

Newly acquired Apollon footballer, Clinton Duodu, expressed his enthusiasm for his transfer to the team, speaking to the club’s official website www.apollon.com.cy, saying that his presence here will help him develop further.

How do you feel about joining Apollon?

Apollon is a great opportunity for me, as it represents an important step in my career. It is a historic club that competes for titles and distinctions, and often participates in European competitions. I would like to thank Apollon for believing in me and giving me this opportunity to prove that I can succeed in football.

What are your expectations from your new team?

I have high expectations for myself and the team. Coming here, I believe that with the infrastructure, the level, and the excellent facilities that Apollon offers, I will be able to further develop as a footballer.

How was your welcome from the team and your teammates?

The welcome from everyone at the team was excellent. From the first day, they helped me settle into the city and into Apollon. I felt very comfortable from the moment I walked into the locker room. I’m very happy with the atmosphere and the welcome I received from my new teammates and the coaching staff.

You got a taste of the Cypriot league after playing in the friendly match against Nea Salamina. What did you think?

I played in the friendly match against Nea Salamina, and for my first appearance, I believe I did very well. There is a big difference compared to football in Ghana – here, the game is faster, you have to pass the ball within a few seconds, and there is more intensity and strength. I feel prepared and determined to succeed, and I want to make the most of the opportunity given to me.

You also had the chance to meet Apollon fans at the Fan Day on Wednesday. What’s your opinion?

I met the fans at the Fan Day, and I was very happy to see so many people. It helped me understand how much they love this team and how passionately they follow it. I’m excited to play in front of these fans.
