Ioannis Pittas remains at Apollon until 2025
Apollon FC announces the extension of partnership with one of our team captains, Ioannis Pittas, until May 2025.
The international striker developed from our youth facilities and has so far made 137 appearances for Apollon and scored 31 goals.
He made his official debut on October 31, 2015 against Omonia and has so far celebrated a championship, two cups and two super cups.
Ioannis Pittas commented to www.apollon.com.cy about his new contract until 2025.
New contract until 2025. What does this mean for you?
First of all, I would like to thank everyone for the messages they sent me all this time and for the support they showed to the team, especially in the last matches. I also thank Mr. Nikos Kirzis and Petros Konnafis for the trust he showed in me by extending our cooperation.
The new contract means a lot to me but the most important thing is the reward of my efforts. It’s a recognition of the efforts I put into the team in recent years.
What was it that played a role in your decision?
First and foremost was my will to remain at Apollon but also the club’s desire for me to continue here. It is very important that you are recognized and rewarded for what you offer.
Beyond that, the emotions I felt with winning the championship, the new stadium that is coming but also the stay of Hambo I would say were some of the factors.
We have been with the team for many years, the oldest, and I was happy that he renewed his contract with the team and will be with us for the next few years.
After winning the championship, what are your goals for the new year?
Back-to-back is a huge motivation and as I said before, the moments I experienced last May were unforgettable and I want to experience them again!
Of course, I cannot overlook the prospect of the Champions League as I consider it the dream of every footballer to compete at this level! I hope we can make it!
The family of Apollon Limassol wishes the footballer even more success competing in the blue and white jersey.
