Match Report | APOLLON-ETHNIKOS ACHNAS (2-2)

In a match full of intensity and comebacks for the 12th round of the Cyprus League by Stoiximan, Apollon and Ethnikos Achnas ended in a draw, despite our team trailing 0-2.

The game began with Ethnikos taking the lead in just the 2nd minute through a header by Lomotey. In the 53rd minute, Bonetto doubled the visitors’ lead.

Our team reduced the deficit to 1-2 in the 60th minute with a header from Malekkidis following an excellent cross by Veisbeck. The final word belonged to Marques, who equalized in the 90th minute with a close-range effort, making it 2-2.

Despite the added time and a huge chance for Spoljaric in the 90+7th minute, the match ended in a draw.

A key moment in the game occurred in the 32nd minute when Bolie won a penalty, but Marques’ attempt was saved by Flores.

Our next match is this coming Wednesday (04/12), again at home, against Ethnikos Achnas for the Cup competition.
