Match Report | APOLLON – OMONOIA ARADIPPOU (1-0 FRIENDLY)

Apollon wrapped up their pre-season friendlies with a 1-0 victory over Omonia Aradippou at the Alphamega Stadium, in a match that served as the final rehearsal ahead of the league opener. Our team enjoyed the upper hand for most of the game, with Sofronis Avgousti testing different formations and line-ups, giving playing time to many players and drawing useful conclusions regarding both match fitness and team chemistry.

The only goal of the encounter came in the 59th minute. Dione delivered a corner, Ljubic made the cut-back inside the box and Youssef, with a superb backheel, sent the ball into the net to secure the win for our team.

Apollon now turn their focus to the league opener, as on Saturday 23 August they will face Aris Limassol at the Alphamega Stadium, acting as the nominal away side.
