Apollon got their official campaign off to the perfect start with an emphatic 4-0 away victory over Dila Gori in Georgia, taking a commanding advantage into next week’s second leg of the UEFA Conference League second qualifying round.

Brandon Thomas opened the scoring in the 14th minute with a close-range finish, before Gaetan Weissbeck doubled the lead in the 28th minute with an excellent strike from outside the penalty area to make it 2-0 at the break.

Apollon maintained the same intensity after the restart and extended the lead in the 51st minute through an own goal. Alen Ozbolt completed the scoring in the 88th minute with a close-range finish.

The hosts were reduced to ten men in the 40th minute after Donkor was sent off for violent conduct.
