Apollon played their first friendly match in Cyprus after returning from the Netherlands, ending in a 2-2 draw against Freedom 24 Krasava ENY Ypsonas at the “Ammochostos” Stadium in Larnaca.
Apollon took the lead in the 16th minute through a Veisbeck penalty (won by Pedro Marques after being brought down by De Lucas), while Marques scored again in the 68th minute to make it 2-1. The hosts equalized twice – first in the 60th minute with a Butnik penalty and then in the 76th with a close-range finish by Christodoulou. A golden chance for the win was missed in the 89th minute, when Clinton sent his penalty wide after Vrikkis was fouled in the box.
