Match Report | NEA SALAMINA – APOLLON (FRIENDLY MATCH 3-1)

In our final friendly match of the pre-season ahead of the new campaign, we were defeated 3-1 by Nea Salamina at the Ammochostos – Epistrofi Stadium. The hosts took the lead from the penalty spot in the 21st minute, but we created opportunities to level the score, with Asoro going close in a one-on-one situation in the 42nd minute, while Aivu had a goal ruled out for offside in the 35th minute. We equalised in the 48th minute when Ozbolt converted from the penalty spot after Asoro had been brought down inside the area. We controlled several periods of the second half and created further opportunities, but Nea Salamina scored twice in the closing stages, in the 76th and 78th minutes, to seal the 3-1 victory. We begin our league campaign next Saturday, facing Aris away at the Alphamega Stadium in the opening round of the championship.
