Match Report | PAOK-APOLLON (Pre Season friendly | 3-1)
Apollon had the opportunity to test formations, player combinations and draw useful conclusions in the team’s third pre-season friendly — and first on Dutch soil — against a more match-ready PAOK, who are set to play their first official match in a few days.
The friendly, held under rainy conditions and played over four 30-minute periods, ended in a 3-1 win for the Thessaloniki side. Despite the defeat, our team showed a solid performance for most of the match, created several chances, and hit the woodwork twice through Kvida and Youssef.
Our only goal came in the 114th minute when Ioannis Polyviou scored with a header following a corner kick by Morgan Brown.
Coach Sofronis Avgousti started the match with the following lineup:
Leeuwenbergh, Malekkidis, Kvida, Vouros, Shikkis, Weissbeck, Ljubic, Rodrigues, Dione, Duondou, Castel.
