V. Jovanovic: “Apollon is a well known club, even in Serbia”

Member of Apollon roster is Vukasin Jovanovic.

Vukasin during his first interview as an Apollon player said:

Initially, he expressed his pleasure for his transfer to our team, saying that he is very happy for that.

“This is a well-known team, even in Serbia, which has been playing non-stop in Europe in recent years. Unfortunately, we were eliminated early this year, but this may help us to dedicate ourselves exclusively to the local competitions.

It is one of the biggest teams in Cyprus which every year fight for trophies and will help me improve even more and develop as a footballer.

I have talked to several of my compatriots about my new transfer and they have told me the best about the country, the city and the club. They explained to me that Apollon would be the best decision I ever made».

Regarding his football characteristics, he stated that he is a footballer who helps the team to create a game from the defense.

“Apart from my ability to organize and help develop attacks, I have the ability to ‘read’ the game and anticipate situations.

I can play on both sides of the center of defense with the same ease while I have the ability to respond in the position of defensive midfielder. Sometimes in the past I also played as a right back.

I do not want to say too much and I will let people judge my performance at the end of the season.”

Regarding his condition, he stated that he has been training with a Serbian team for the last month and in two or three weeks he will be ready to play.

The footballer was also asked about the fact that he was left out of the team last season and explained that the change in the technical leadership brought this fact.

“Last year the management of Bordeaux proceeded to replacement of the coach who I was not included in his plans. During the winter transfer window I was offered to transfer to other team on loan, however I did not want to go to a team that the club would suggest to me and would not help me develop my career. I thought I could go to a club of my choice that meets my needs.”

The footballer also spoke to us about the new stadium that is under construction next to our training center, which he visited before signing his new contract.

“The transfer to the new stadium is a huge step and motivation for any team in the world. Talking to the people of the team, they explained to me how much they look forward to playing in their own stadium which will be the most modern in Cyprus and how important a project it is for the whole of Limassol”.

In closing, the footballer sent his own message to the world of the team.

“The only thing I promise the fans is that I will give 100% on the field and I will be an excellent professional. I am ready for the new step in my career “.
