Valantis Kapartis joins Apollon’s Scouting Department
Apollon Football (Public) Ltd is pleased to announce the appointment of Valantis Kapartis, who joins the club’s football department as a Scout.
Having recently concluded his playing career, Kapartis dedicated the last few years to furthering his education in the field of scouting, acquiring the knowledge and expertise required for the next chapter of his professional journey.
His addition forms part of the club’s efforts to strengthen and further develop its scouting and recruitment structure, with the aim of creating a modern and well-organised department that will support the club’s long-term sporting strategy.
Shortly after joining Apollon, Valantis Kapartis sat down with the club’s official website to discuss his new challenge, his responsibilities within the scouting department and the philosophy behind the club’s new project.
Welcome to Apollon. What was your first thought when the opportunity to join the club came up?
First of all, I’m very happy to be here. I had some initial discussions with the club’s president and Technical Director Makis Papaioannou. Since I had recently retired from professional football, I had already spent the previous two years studying and preparing for a career in scouting. When the proposal from Apollon arrived, I accepted it with great pleasure.
What attracted you the most to this profession?
I have always enjoyed watching players, analysing their characteristics and understanding their potential for development. It is something I am passionate about and a field in which I want to continue improving.
How important is the combination of scouting, video analysis and data in modern football?
Data is a very important tool when used correctly. In my opinion, the ideal approach is to combine statistics with what you actually see on the pitch. Data is valuable, but the human eye remains essential.
What will your role be within the club’s new structure?
Working alongside Head of Recruitment Marios Antoniadis and Technical Director Makis Papaioannou, I will be involved in monitoring and evaluating transfer targets. At the same time, I will also follow the progress of the club’s loan players and younger talents.
What message would you like to send to the Apollon supporters?
I would like to thank the fans for their continuous support throughout the years. From my side, I promise to give my very best every day and do everything I can to help the club achieve its goals.
Everyone at Apollon welcomes Valantis Kapartis to the club and wishes him every success in his new role.
