Ioannis Polyviou: “A dream come true”

At just 17 years old, Ioannis Polyviou took his first steps into the professional football world, wearing the Apollon first-team shirt. Speaking to the club’s official website, he shared his thoughts, feelings, and goals after making his debut against Aris.

“This means so much to me. I’m very grateful for the trust shown to me by the Apollon family. I hope to repay that trust by giving my all on the pitch,” said Ioannis Polyviou, expressing how much signing his first professional contract means to him.

When asked about his first appearance at professional level with the senior team, he described the experience with great emotion.
“It was an unbelievable experience, a dream come true. I’ll never forget it, especially against such a strong opponent like Aris. That debut moment will stay with me forever.”

He also vividly remembers his feelings before stepping onto the pitch:
“I can’t describe it. I was so excited, constantly looking towards the bench waiting for the coach to call me. When he did, I rushed to get ready and enter the pitch.”

As for his goals this season, the young midfielder is determined:
“My goal is to establish myself. Being in the army makes it more challenging, but I want to play as much as possible. First to make it into the squad lists and then to earn minutes on the pitch.”

We wish Ioannis the best of luck and every success on his journey with Apollon.
