Panagiotis Charalambous: “I wouldn’t have believed it if someone had told me this 2-3 years ago”

Having already made his first-team debut with Apollon, 18-year-old Panagiotis Charalambous has now signed his first professional contract. Speaking to our official website, he shares his feelings, experiences, and goals for the future.

“I’m really happy. I feel like my hard work is paying off. This is something I’ve dreamed of since I was a kid, and now it’s becoming reality. I’m very grateful for the opportunity I’ve been given, and I will try to make the most of it,” said the young midfielder, describing his emotions during this important moment of his career. He added: “If someone had told me two or three years ago that I would sign a professional contract, I honestly wouldn’t have believed it.”

Talking about his first appearance with the first team, he couldn’t hide his excitement. “It was truly incredible. The moment I stepped onto the pitch, I felt proud. It was the reward for all the hard work I’ve put in, and I hope there are more moments like this to come. Especially in the home match against APOEL, the emotions were even stronger.”

He also acknowledged the pivotal role his family has played in his journey to professional football. “They’ve been by my side from the beginning, supporting me through the good times and especially the tough ones. I owe them a lot. I also want to thank Giorgos Vasiliou for trusting me and insisting on me. Even when he’s strict sometimes, I know it’s because he wants to see me progress, and I really appreciate that. I wouldn’t want to forget to thank my agent as well.”

As for his goals this season, Charalambous is clear:
“I want to improve every day. To help the team whenever I’m called upon and to prove every time that I deserve to be here. My dream is to establish myself at Apollon.”

We wish Panagiotis Charalambous health, growth, and many great moments in the Apollon shirt.
