Match Report | AEK-APOLLON (0-1)

For the 22nd round of the Cyprus League by Stoiximan, we secured an important away win, beating AEK 1-0 at the AEK Arena and extending our winning run.

The match started at a high tempo with chances on both sides, as the hosts threatened early, but we gradually settled and increased our pressure. Our big chance came in the 24th minute through Marques, and in the 33rd minute we took the lead when the ball fell to Brandon Thomas inside the box and he finished calmly to make it 0-1. The goal was checked by VAR and awarded.

Until halftime we managed our advantage well and also threatened through Zmrhal and Weissbeck. In the second half AEK applied pressure, but we stayed compact defensively, with Kun making key saves when needed. We found the net again in the 78th minute through Thomas, but the goal was disallowed for handball in the build-up.

We remained focused until the final whistle and secured a valuable three points, moving up to 45 points in the table.

Our next match is on Saturday, 21 February, at the ALPHAMEGA Stadium against Ethnikos Achnas.
