Match Report | ANORTHOSIS-APOLLON (1-1)

For the 26th round of the Cyprus League by Stoiximan, we drew 1-1 against Anorthosis at the Antonis Papadopoulos Stadium, finishing the regular season with 53 points.

We started the match strongly and created the first dangerous moments. In the 5th minute, after a corner from Weissbeck, Kvida had a good opportunity but could not convert, while in the 40th minute Jan Zmrhal threatened from close range. Our pressure paid off just before halftime, when in the 44th minute Pedro Marques headed home from a Weissbeck corner to give us the lead.

Anorthosis responded early in the second half. In the 49th minute, following a corner by Sensi, Ilia scored with a close-range header to make it 1-1.

The match remained open afterwards, with chances for both sides. Anorthosis threatened , but Kuhn made important saves, while we came close to scoring again through Marques, Gaspar and Rodrigues in the closing stages.

The 1-1 scoreline remained until the final whistle, with our team completing the regular season in second place with 53 points.
