Match Report | APOLLON – AEK (1-2)

Our team suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat against AEK at the “Alfamega Stadium”, in the 9th matchweek of the Cyprus League by Stoiximan.

Despite creating several clear chances and hitting the woodwork three times, we couldn’t secure a result from the game. The first half ended goalless, with our team being the more dangerous side, coming close through Weissbeck in the 26th minute when his effort struck the crossbar.

We took the lead early in the second half (48’) when Kvida rose highest to head home from a Weissbeck corner. AEK equalised just three minutes later through Rodén (51’), and completed the turnaround in the 80th minute with a powerful strike from Jairo.

We pushed hard for the equaliser until the final whistle, with Marcelinho hitting both posts in one move, but the score remained unchanged.

Our next match is on Saturday against Ethnikos Achnas, at the Dasaki Stadium, for Matchday 10 of the Cyprus League by Stoiximan.
