Match Report | APOLLON-APOEL (2-0)

We returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over APOEL at the Alphamega Stadium for the 8th round of the Cyprus League by Stoiximan playoffs, a result that also mathematically secured our European qualification. We started the match strongly and took the lead in the 4th minute through Rodrigues from the penalty spot after a handball following Gaspar’s cross. We then managed our advantage well, limiting APOEL’s attacking efforts, while a second goal by Rodrigues in the 34th minute was disallowed by VAR for offside. In the second half we remained dangerous going forward and in the 62nd minute Ljubic scored with a low finish after an assist from Rodrigues to make it 2-0. Until the final whistle we controlled the game well and celebrated an important victory in front of our fans. Our next match is against Aris at the Alphamega Stadium on Saturday, 16 May.
