Match Report | Omonia – Apollon (5-2)

We concluded our league campaign with a 5-2 away defeat against Omonia at the GSP Stadium and now shift our full focus to the Cup final. The home side took an early lead through Simic, however we responded well and after sustained pressure in the opposition area, Marques equalised in the 34th minute following efforts from Rodrigues and Thomas. In the second half, Omonia capitalised on their chances and regained the lead through Chatzigiovanis, before Evandro made it 3-1. We reacted immediately and reduced the deficit to 3-2 through Assuncao after an assist from Weissbeck, but the hosts added two more goals through Mae to seal the final score. We completed the league season in third place and now turn our attention to the Cup final against Pafos FC on Friday, May 29 at the GSP Stadium.
