BACK TO BACK AND CUP AGAIN

Apollon was now forced to fight hard to maintain the gains and managed for the second consecutive year (1966-1967) to achieve his second blow and to be crowned Cypriot cup winner again.

The beginning was made in Lysis and on ASIL with a 3-1 victory. In the second round of the tournament, APOEL is the opponent, where we prevailed with 3-1 in GSO. In the semi-final phase the obstacle was mountain. Anorthosis is an opponent in Famagusta, but Apollon… escaped from GSE with 1-0

Limassol on the streets again

So for the third consecutive season, Apollon was happy to go to the final thanks to its amazing course, by  passing very difficult obstacles. Opponent this time is Alki Larnakas, who was an equal opponent but Apollon won 1-0 with a goal in 76 ΄ with Antonis Panagidis. The final took place at the old GSP on July 2, 1967.

So this 2nd consecutive cup was the most important, since Apollon now passed to the big teams of Cypriot football.

The eleven who played in the game were Giannakis Papaioannou, Christakis Fasoulis, Andreas Georgiou, Dimos Kavazis, Andreas Themistokleous, Andros Konstantinou, Dimitris Antoniou, Panikos Krystallis, Costas Vassiliadis and Giannakis Panias.
